Kina/ China. Western Xi mausoleums and the city of Yinchuan in the region Ningvia.
Continuing West from Beijing – Pingyao to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Western Xi mausoleums, and the city of Yinchuan in the region Ningvia. The Western Xi Mausoleum and the city of Yinchuan are both part of a UNESCO World Heritage site in Ningxia, China. The mausoleum is the burial place of the Western Xia Dynasty rulers, and its historical significance is clear in the quiet, impressive tombs. Yinchuan, the region’s capital, has a laid-back atmosphere with a mix of old temples and modern life. The desert landscape surrounding the area adds a certain stillness to the place, while the city itself offers a unique blend of tradition and growth. We made sure to go to a beautiful coffee cafe where hipsters and academics worked for hours and I loved the beauty. It’s a spot worth visiting if you’re looking to explore something a little off the beaten path in China.
