Kina /China : Doing gymnastics with the ladies in the street at zero degrees.
Doing gymnastics together with the ladies at the square for an hour. This is such a good way to travel and connect. Luckily, it seems they enjoyed it almost as much as I did. (I’m in the back on the right side of the small videos ;-))
In China they always do gymnastics, Tai Chi etc outside together. Morning a and evenings. I often join when I travel.
Comparing this hour to my usual loved dance lessons at the gym, it’s less speed and sweating, and more keeping a rank and proud posture, bag straight, shoulders back, balance and preventing illness. It’s a considerably more efficient workout than I expected and much fun for the company of the ladies that enjoyed that I joined and helped out. No wonder many chinese live long and health lives.
We had dinner here and chose Korean food. Followed by more Korean food for dessert at another place. Here we were treated to a room downstairs were we could sit on pillows on the floor or lie on the floor with cushions and just chill with movies on our phones.
It’s easy to get Korean food as 40% of the people living here are ethnically Korean.
Dinner was of course at the area where they have their houses with neon business signs lighting up the street. They even put this buildings on their fridge magnets. They do mean it – this is one area they come to for street food, restaurants, karaoke etc.
We came by train from Jilin (and Changdu) and left via domestic airport.

Lærke and I have shared our travel experiences and tips and tricks on traveling China at Café Globen following our trip Four weeks in july 2024. We might do it again.
This is my fourth time traveling in China and it’s been 3-4 months total now. Still soooo much to experience and learn in this wast country. I’m taken a back of the development since I was here with Lærke and Nicolai in 2006, when they were 3 and 5 years old, and today. Still the friendliness, curiosity and lack of English skills remain unchanged.
