Bangladesh: Dhakas Top Sights. Our start and end point of this round trip

Dhaka’s Top Sights: we end our Bangladesh adventure by showing some of the first things we saw and what mist visitors experience in Dhaka.

  1. Lalbagh Fort: A 17th-century Mughal fort with architecture and lush gardens. Never finished as the man eho wanted it build lost his daughter and instead build a mausoleum for her her. Its whats most important – your children
  2. Ahsan Manzil: The iconic “Pink Palace,” a former royal residence showcasing Indo-Saracenic architecture. A place for trade near the harbour / river.
  3. Sadarghat: river port on the Buriganga River, filled with boats and vibrant life.
  4. Dhakeshwari Temple: The oldest Hindu temple in Dhaka, blending history with spiritual significance.
  5. Star Mosque (Tara Masjid): A mosque adorned with star-shaped mosaic patterns, a hidden gem out of reach to women. We could look through the fence …
  6. Armenian Church: A historic 18th-century church, offering a glimpse into Dhaka’s Armenian heritage and now used and maintained by British as I understood it.
  7. National Parliament House: A modern architecture symbolizing Bangladesh’s democracy. Rather important.
  8. Bangladesh National Museum
  9. Hatirjheel Lake: An urban lake for a tranquil escape within the city.
    From earlier posts:
  10. Sail the river on a small boat without motor.
  11. Panam Ghost town and folk art museum just outside the city
  12. The textile factories recreating the silk weaving techniques from history
  13. Dharmrei hindu metal art west of Dhaka
Hand in hand. So happy to meet and connect even though we have not met before and unlikely to meet again

Capture the essence of Dhaka’s rich history, diverse culture, and stunning architecture!

When we left, all the statues of the father of the nation were destroyed and posters with the former prime minister, her father ‘the father of the nation’ and others from her government were removed. They were everywhere when we arrived and two weeks later, they were nowhere.
