China / Kina. Tibet. Lhasa. Potala Palace.

Tibet. Lærke and I are realising a dream from our Bucket lists. Spending a week in Tibet driving through the mountain scenery from Lhasa to Shingatse and eventuelle staying overnight in Everest Base Camp.

This is the most holy and important palace in Tibet, the Potala Palace. It also UNESCO World Heritage. So let’s start with a visit here.

The iconic structure has historical, cultural, and religious significance. It served as the winter residence of the Dalai Lama and is an example of Tibetan architecture, featuring palaces, chapels, and administrative buildings. The palace is renowned for its vast collection of Buddhist statues, murals, and a criptures, reflecting the heritage of Tibetan Buddhism.

So many steps up.

Many visitors used oxygen already here.

The view of the city is spectacular and features also the obligatory green parc with a lake where people enjoy pleasure time in small boats powered as bicycles. In form is also the monument for when Tibet became Chinese in 1959.

Flowers thriving here and are taken care of in a way that would make my garden loving family feel like home.
